Divertimento No.1 Bb-Major HobII-46 A light-weight music which is suitable for those who got tired after listening to other enormous work of orchestras. The special thing about this piece is that it relies entirely on wind instruments rather than other common instruments (like piano or violin). Though perhaps Haydn should have made it a little bit brighter.
HobXXVIa-25 (Mermaid's song) At first, the voice might sound a bit like 'moaning'. But after a while, it becomes more & more like music. And now, I find this song quite amusing to listen to.
HobXXVIa-27 (Pastoral song) This song really captures the peaceful nature of pastoral scenaries.
HobXXVIa-30 (Fidelity) Even though this is less artistic compared to other songs in Hob-XXVIa, but the repetition of "my heart is fixed on thee" has really got stuck in my mind.
HobXXVIa-31 (Sailor's song) It's interesting to know that all songs in Hob-XXVIa were orginally written in English; & if you listen to the lyrics, it's actually quite funny. The best thing about this piece is the style that it's presented. It's just magnificent!!!
HobXXVIa-34 (She never told her love) Such a sad song.... well, the title says it all.
HobXXVIa-35 (Piercing eyes) I particularly like the smooth combination betweent the voice & the piano in this song.
HobXXVIa-42 (Oh tuneful voice) The continuity of the tone of the voice makes this song quite special. Perhaps that's why it's called a "tuneful voice"?
String Quartet Op.3 No.5 F-Major HobIII-17
Mo2(04:34) Mo3(10:01) Mo4(13:25)
This piece probably carries one of the most unique tunes that I've heard. The second movement, in particular, has such a beautiful melody!
